Congratulations are in order! Two community groups that have served Silver Lake for 20 years got together last evening (December 7, 2009) to celebrate their longevity. I am speaking of the Silver Lake Improvement Association and the Silver Lake Reservoirs Conservancy. Each has served the community faithfully and deserves our gratitude. Donna and I had the pleasure of attending the event and catching up with old friends from the neighborhood. On hand were 25 or so familiar faces and many new ones who have recently become involved.

The Silver Lake Improvement Association (SLIA) was facing virtual extinction due to a recent lack of interest. My hat goes off to President Genelle LeVin who has kicked a lot of behinds an encouraged a new generation of activists to get involved!
